Crossing my Fingers November 21, 2005 @ 9:56 a.m.
When I opened up my email box this morning, I saw a message from Nica's parents' email address with the subject "I'm Sorry". I had some trepidation about opening the message, thinking it was something like "I'm sorry you don't get the message that YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING INNAPROPRIATE MATERIAL AND I'M HAVING YOU FIRED!", or perhaps, "I'm sorry, but we think you're a waste of time and are pulling Nica out of Sunday school".
I guess I'm a pessimistic like that. It turned out just to be an apology from Nica for acting out in class and a promise not to do it again.
That's a relief. Sophie wasn't there, and Nica is the one most likely to rat on me for something I didn't do. Which just leaves Rebekah. But when I had asked her about it later on that day, she already forgotten about the whole thing. Nice kid, though somewhat addle-brained. For now, I think I'm good. No call from Leslie yet, so I'm crossing my fingers. Figuratively of course - I am working as a receptionist, you know.
