You're welcome. I'm sure your requests were heard and acknowledged. Its very simple, comparatively, to let them be known. The sincerity of the requests carries them across astral space, which is based on association rather than distance.
With regards to ritual and ceremony, I would say do your best and try to create something of quality. This may or may not be traditional, but whatever you do should be heartfelt, beautiful in some way, and have quality and style to it. These days, the spirits are actually more impatient with too much ceremony than not enough. The 72 have fondness for the honors of ceremony, but dealing with them honorably is most important.
If you have a mustard seed of faith, you will move mountains. Its ok to have doubts; just acknowledge your faith and act from it. It is the point at the center of your circle. If you call correctly they must come. The conjurations pull them there and force them to define themselves a certain way. Its programming of a sort. The lengthy conjurations are designed to pull the spirits into a very specific kind of shape and relationship in order for the human to work effectively with them. Its much easier on the spirit's end - the ceremony is more for our sake.
DuQuette's right in that we are hard-wired to work with the spirits - as above so below, as in the astral, so in our brains. But he tends to limit them far too much. Its a sign of insecurity on his part that he tries to confine them to the mind. They are more than just mental beings, and if he really acknowledged them in the Divine Mind as he claims he does, he would relax into the magic more.
Jung gets so much crap but is so misunderstood - sigh...
