Going to O'ahu July 31, 1999 @
Plute conjunction Uranus, Venus square Jupiter, Jupiter opposition Saturn, Sun trine Uranus, Mercury opposition Sun, Mercury square Pluto I woke up early today, tired still from JLT sleep loss. I had breakfast and got completely ready only to find I could have slept more. We took a DC-10 to Oahu. The five hour flight was a weird mix. The whole Hawaiin Airlines bit is very corny. Sat in a middle seat. On my left was a really fat guy who made me squished the whole time. On my right though was a really cute guy from some military academy. He was very friendly. The inflight movie was "EdTV". It was pretty good. There was one part where they made a crack about Yanni; Mom and Dad thought it was very funny.
Drove a rental car for an hour to our hotel for the day. O'ahu is not that great, but it was nice to see the ocean after so long. Went to the Polynesian culture center for a luau. I was worried about it being corny, but it was authentic and the food was great. Had to retire early due to fatigue. Jon was obnoxious as usual. At the hotel was an artist displaying his works. He paints in oils too, and did some incredibly beautiful and detailed work. Kinda gives me something to aspire to.
