What is the true nature of the Fall of the Angels?
This is something I have been striving to understand for years. Its one of the mysteries taught by the spirits in the Grimoire of Armadel.
The thing is that not all the spirits "fell". Some of them volunteered to go down, others were assigned or relegated downwards for lots of different reasons. People want to simplify the whole thing, but its complex. There were a couple key events in this history of our world and galaxy that tend to get mashed together into the mythologies of the fall. I kind of prefer to call it Descension, as it is the natural complement to Ascension and does not necessarily have moral overtones.
There are basically four reasons that drew the spirits downward, and you can associate these with the four great demon emperors
1) Pride - Lucifer - Fire
2) Extreme Duty or Self-Righteousness - Satan - Air
3) Passion or Apathy (same axis) - Leviat`an - Water
4) Ignorance - Belial - Earth
There are also four kings associated with the directions, and four kings "offensive in the elements" that seem to be linked to the Watchers mythos. Nergal Samael is both archangel of mars and the angel of the demons, and he teaches the infernal mysteries of love-hate and the nature of war, conflict, and opposition. Astarot` is both goddess and demon, and exists equally well in hell, earth, and heaven, with very different yet related aspects in each. Her name comes from the same root as "star" - aster, and she is associated with Venus, the morning and evening star.

What's the deal with 2012?
Basically as technological advancement grows to a faster and faster rate, time perception becomes more out of whack. The future advancement of our species lies in a multidimensionality that recognizes our existence independent of the three dimensional and even four dimensional universe. Its a gradual but punctuated transition that began over two hundred years ago with the "age of enlightenment". We are coming to recognize that we are more than the sum of our parts and hence we cannot save ourselves through empiricism, technology, or materialism.
