Control is fun! I know it gets a lot of crap, but being able to create and administer something is not necessarily a bad thing. Co-creation is the kind of thing we are aiming for long-term with our soul evolution. The problem is when the need for control gets out of control :) Hence, you get the control freak - a problem that runs on my mother's side of the family.
We have to administer what we are given, but we have to do it open to change and intuition and all those other things that are outside of control and even understanding. The castle becomes a prison when we refuse to budge, when the lines of the rooms around us are harsh and unyielding and we don't make enough room for the circular and cyclic and irrational in our lives.
Every addiction contains a seed of good within it - an appreciation of something immanent and transcendental. But perversion comes when the means become more important than the Way, and the type becomes more important than the time.
What you own ends up owning you, what you hate dissolves your own stomach away, and what you stick your neck out with pride at snaps you like a twig. Best to stay flexible whenever you can.
